Executive Position Descriptions

  • The position of the President is a satisfying and fulfilling role. The position requires someone with great leadership and communication skills. A history of team leadership will set you up to be successful in the role.

    Their presence is required at all meetings in order to chair and manage the meeting flow.

  • The position of Vice President is sedentary but supportive role to the President. The position requires someone with the flexibility to be able to “fill in” as required and with the motivation to stay abreast with current matters of the association.

    Their presence is required at all meetings in order to chair as required, in particular where a conflict of interest may be perceived or declared by the President.

  • The Secretary of an organisation must be 18 years of age and must reside within 85km of the registered address of the association.

    The Secretary may be elected or, as necessary, appointed by the Executive Committee.

    A successful Secretary will have current operating knowledge of office technology, great organisation and time management skills, be adaptable and flexible and have both written and spoken communication skills.

    The Secretary is required at all meetings and is responsible for taking accurate records of those meetings.

  • The Treasurer is an elected position.

    A successful Treasurer will have bookkeeping or accountancy knowledge and understanding. They will have experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Quickbooks Online, or other ATO compliant electronic record keeping program as required.

    The Treasurer is required to offer a report of financial position at all meetings and if unable to make the meeting personally, must appoint an appropriate knowledgeable person to present the report on their behalf.
