Program Overview
MADCOTA Cares! is a community‑driven program that helps seniors confidently self‑manage their Support at Home (SAH) funding. We provide personalised guidance, local workforce solutions, social connection programs, and practical support navigating aged‑care pathways.
Program Pillars
1. Local Support, Local Strength
We prioritise sourcing and supporting local workers from within each community. This ensures seniors receive consistent, familiar care and strengthens continuity of support—even during natural disasters or times when external services cannot reach the region.
2. Person‑Centred Care & Choice
Every senior deserves care that reflects their needs, preferences and goals. We empower clients to self‑manage their Support at Home funding, choose their own workers, and stay in control of their care journey.
3. Fair Access for Every Senior
We work to close the aged‑care service gaps that disadvantage seniors in regional and rural areas. Our program is built on fairness, dignity and the belief that no older person should be left behind because of where they live.
4. Community Connection & Belonging
Social connection is essential to wellbeing. We create opportunities for seniors to stay engaged, supported and connected to their community—reducing isolation and strengthening local networks.
5. Reliable Support You Can Trust
Our care coordinators provide friendly, responsive guidance to help seniors navigate services, understand their options and access the support they need. We show up, follow through and deliver care with a warm, local touch.
6. Resilience in Times of Crisis
Maryborough and surrounding regions face unique challenges, including floods and natural disasters. By building a community‑based workforce and strong local partnerships, we ensure seniors continue receiving support when it matters most.
7. Advocacy for Rural Seniors
We amplify the voices of older people in our region, advocating for better services, fairer access and stronger recognition of the challenges faced by rural and regional seniors.
